Mei Tai Baby!

Oliver falls asleep almost instantly in the Mei Tai! Here we are on the roof of our hotel. There is a beautiful view of the city (and we can see the PGN building which is right behind us)!

The 5 of us... including Sophie's "Ollie Baby" in his sling! More cute photos of that coming soon to her blog!

One of the many reasons the Mei Tai is my favorite carrier... you just untie the back and slide your sleeping baby out...

.................... and what a precious sleeping baby he is!

Happy 8 Months, Ollie!

Oliver just turned 8 months old and is doing great! He is such a sweet, happy baby. He is alert, very active, and very interested in everything going on around him. He is absolutely in awe of his big sister Sophie Lu, and he loves it when she makes him laugh! We visited the doctor yesterday- Ollie weighs almost 19 pounds and is 70cm tall.... he smiled at the doctor during the entire examination! He seems to be rapidly attaching to us, and of course, we are so in love with him!
,

Regarding our case and when we can come home: We are currently waiting for Ollie's new birth certificate from Guatemala City. Once that comes in, our attorney will submit our paperwork to the US Embassy who will give us an appointment for his Visa. We will also be applying for his passport and visiting the Embassy Dr. We estimate being here another 4 weeks or so.
.

Thank you so much to everyone for your beautiful comments and emails! I know they will also be very special to Ollie one day!

xoxo

More Sophie & Ollie

Sophie Lu is everything a baby boy could ever want in a big sister... she is patient, affectionate, and very gentle.

It's so cute the way she puts her hand on his head. She rubs and pats him- it's so sweet.

And she shares with him. This is Sophie's baby boy doll- she named him Ollie Baby too. I think Oliver is already learning how to be loving- just like his big sister.

................. I love the way she looks at him so intently...

and then descends on him for the softest kiss. Don't let the look on his face fool you- he loves every minute of it!

Sophie Lu is very proud of her baby brother, but make no mistake about it...

........... Ollie is HER baby, and she is very protective of him! :)

We have Ollie Baby & Happy Mother's Day!

Here we are with sweet Ollie Baby at last! We were surprised to find them already waiting for us in the lobby when we got off the elevator, so we have no pictures of our first moments with him.... but you know I'll be making up for that!

As you can see, Ollie baby is more interested in Sophie Lu than the camera!

.................. ................Me and my Ollie Bear!

........ .............Looking at his big sister again! :)

Of course, Daddy had to sing his Oompa Loomp song.... I started laughing, and then Ollie started laughing too! He has the sweetest little laugh!

...... .........It's so easy to make him laugh too!
a

........ ......... And there's that smile that melts my heart!

.............. ... m............. I love his round little face!

.............. .........And those big brown eyes!
n
..............................Look- he has two bottom teeth!

.........................He is starting to sit up and loves to roll!

............. He makes the cutest little noises- he loves to talk!

Look how little he is! Sophie Lu says, "Awwww, so cute- Ollie Baby!"

.. . ................. And boy did she check him out!

Little cuties! I can't wait to get some really great pictures of the two of them!

He's going to be crawling soon! We are in no rush for that though... as part of our attachment plan, we will be the only ones to hold him for a while (like we did with Sophie), and we will hold him and wear him in a carrier as much as we can.

I was able to make great eye contact with him while feeding him. He tried to hold his own bottle, so I offered my pinky instead. He was a little stiff and fidgety at first, but he slowly melted into my arms....

..... .......... and fell asleep holding my hand...

..... .. .....Sweet dreams, sweet little angel!

We love you, and we'll be here when you wake up. And we will never ever be apart again!

* Happy Mother's Day to everyone, especially all the Mommies still waiting for their babies. I know first hand the heartache of waiting- of being without your child- of missing the baby you have never even met.... of longing to be a mother and to feel the love of your child. May it happen very very soon; and until then, may God carry your heart- and may your find peace and faith in His love~

"Daddy Chic" in Antigua!

I was going through my photos from our stay in Antigua and found this! Look at that bottle in Michael's pocket & check him out sporting the traditional Guatemalan baby wrap! Is he cool or what? ;)
